Following reports that Apple’s first mini LED screen device may not launch before 2021, new report says company is partnering with companies to open new Taiwanese factory specifically for screens Mini and Micro LED.

According to the Economic Daily News, Apple is investing about $ 334 million in the plant, which is said to be on a 30.83 hectare site belonging to the Hsinchu Science Park in northern Taiwan. The plant will be built in collaboration with the Taiwanese lighting manufacturer Epistar and the flat panel manufacturer AU Optronics.

The report is supported by Focus Taiwan, which cites informationon on investment requests that indicate that the science park administration approved Apple’s plans on February 18.

The new plant would be an extension of Apple’s operations in the region, and the company would have sent a development team to Taiwan to work on the project.

The Economic Daily News is a primarily accurate monitor of general movements in the supply chain. He has a poor history of predicting when or what Apple products will do. Monday’s report is more the first than the last.

Apple has long been expected to use Mini LEDs and Micro LEDs on a range of products, sometimes including the Apple 2020, and now a future update for the 16-inch MacBook Pro.
