Apple Macs that have the new M1 chip inside have suffered from reported problems with Bluetooth devices, and now further reports of problems are emerging with a bug that causes the screensaver to appear randomly, with no easy way to close it.
MacRumors highlighted the problem that seems to affect people who have multiple user accounts on their Mac, and is apparently a bug in macOS Big Sur’s Fast User Switching system. The latter allows for convenient and quick switching between accounts, without having to log out (note that this feature must be enabled in Big Sur, though).
The bug causes the screensaver to fire seemingly randomly, regardless of whether you use it or not, with no way to close it, except by closing the affected MacBook and reopening the device (or by pressing the power on or using Alt-Command-Q).
