Apple is also working on a charger that can power multiple devices simultaneously. In September 2017, the new charger was first introduced and will beat Apple’s AirPower but did not hit the markets. As the charger did not meet the company’s high standards, Apple has announced that it has stopped AirPower. At least the device was essentially a mat looking Qi charger, capable (theoretically) of charging three Apple devices.
The company unveiled its latest acquisition on wireless charging technology with MagSafe last year with the Apple iPhone 12 series.
The latest development comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a new edition of The Power magazine on it. He wrote, “I also believe that Apple is working on short and long wireless charging devices and is looking forward to a future where all the major Apple devices can charge each other. Imagine an iPad charging an iPhone and then an iPhone charging AirPods or an Apple Watch. ”The details on the new wireless charger are not noticeable, and the date of its launch is also a mystery. However, this is not the first time Apple has said it is working on a new wireless charging technology.
Back in March 2020, months before the launch of MagSafe, YouTuber and contributor Jon Prosser said “AirPower is not dead” and that the project was “back inside.” The tipster added that Apple “has not yet left” and is trying to “re-engineer the coils” to change the heat effectively. Despite having the correct music record, its details turned out to be fake, and the shared design image turned out to be non-AirPower and not designed by Apple.
Some reports even suggest that Apple may update the charging technology on subsequent iPhones to allow users to charge AirPods or Apple Watch by placing them on the back of the phone. However, Apple only uses larger batteries on the Pro Max models and to make iPhone juice accessories like earrings, the phone will need a larger battery, so either the thickness or the weight of the device.
