Apple is adapting its services to a focus on streaming and advertising

Apple is not a regular service company because the main source of revenue is also the app, but subscriptions have become an important part of the company. They are currently larger than Apple’s Mac and iPad. However, the company seems to want to expand its service area by promoting streaming platforms and ads. As a Business Insider piece based on insights familiar with the subject, Apple decided to reconfigure its Services team in order to maximize the profits of the feature. Apple’s vice president of operations, Eddy Cue, has begun making improvements to improve the company’s operations.

Peter Stern, VP of services at Apple, also stands for “advertising” – as he describes it in his LinkedIn profile. However, Cue has claimed that Stern is fully committed to services like the Apple One, which means Todd Teresi will take responsibility for Apple’s advertising business.

These changes are coming as Apple services have seen record games and subscription numbers. Apple’s only advertising source, which is Store Research Advertising, grew 238% to $ 3.7 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $ 5.5 billion by the end of this year. The report says that changes to Apple’s privacy policy, which includes App Tracking App, have led more advertisers to invest in App Store Search ads.

However, there is more to come. The Chief Executive confirmed the rumors that Apple is negotiating to bring NFL games to Apple TV +, which will attract more subscribers even to the altar. The company can monetize NFL content by providing it with ads or through additional sports. Earlier this year, Apple partnered with MLB to bring Friday Night Football exclusive to Apple TV +. However, details about when customers will see these changes in practice are unclear.
