CALIFORNIA, CUPERTINO Apple today unveiled innovative software features that will allow disabled customers to explore, collaborate, and acquire the vast majority of Apple devices in new ways. These major enhancements combine the industry’s latest technology to provide users with unique and customized capabilities, and they build on Apple’s long-standing commitment to creating products that work for everyone.
Using advances across hardware, software, and machine learning, people who are blind or visually impaired can use their iPhone and iPad to navigate the last few feet to their destination with Door Discovery; users with physical and motor impairments who can rely on auxiliary features like Voice Control and Switch Control can fully control the Apple Watch from their iPhone with Apple Watch Mirroring; and the Deaf and hard of hearing community can follow Live Text Messages on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple is also expanding its support for the VoiceOver reader screen with 20 new languages and environments. These features will be available later this year with software updates across Apple platforms.

Apple introduces Door Face, a cutting-edge navigation feature for users who are blind or visually impaired. Finding a door can help users find a door when they reach the end of a new trip, understand how far they have come, and describe the characteristics of the door – including when it is open or closed, and when it is closed , maybe you can open it by pushing, turning. we knock, or pull. Door detection can also read signs and symbols around the door, such as the room number in an office, or finding the entrance sign. This new feature combines the power of LiDAR, camera, and machine training on the device, and will be available on iPhone and iPad models with LiDAR Scanner.1
VoiceOver, Apple’s industry-leading screen reader for the blind and visually impaired users, adds support for more than 20 additional regions and languages, including Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.4 Users can also choose from dozens of new items that are optimized for help features in all languages. These new languages, communities, and sounds will also be available for Word of Choice and live features to the Speak screen. In addition, VoiceOver users on Mac can use the new Text Tool to diagnose common formatting issues such as duplicate fields or typographical errors, which allows reading documents or even emails easy.
