Apple adds repairability scores to iPhones and Macs in France

Apple has added repairability scores to the lists for the iPhone 12, M1 MacBook and other products in an effort to comply with the new laws in France.

Apple has begun setting the first repairability ratings on its smartphones and computers. The score out of ten is visible in the Apple Store app, in this help sheet and on the manufacturer’s French website.

The range of the iPhone 12 (mini, 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max) receives a score of 6. The index of the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro is much worse (4.6) and is even lower for the iPhone 11 Pro Max with 4.5, just like the iPhone XR for that matter.
