Initially launched with an additional cost of $ 4.99 per iPhone or iPad used, the Setapp app subscription service has now permanently reduced that monthly fee by 50%.
Following its very first addition of iOS apps, the Setapp software subscription service reduced the cost of this new addition to $ 2.49 per iPhone or iPad. The cost, which comes in addition to the regular monthly Setapp fee of $ 9.99, allows subscribers to add additional licenses.
The discount is not a temporary or introductory offer. Setapp says it decided to cut costs following “feedback from the Setapp community”. He also states that the goal is to make the use of Setapp on iOS devices more affordable.
Setapp, which originally launched on the Mac in 2017, is a service that, for a monthly subscription, provides around 190 macOS apps. Subscribers can use some or all of them at no additional cost, but they have to pay more when using them on multiple devices.
The introduction of iOS apps into the bundle has been in high demand, but there is currently no way to make an iPhone or iPad the user’s only device. It must accompany a Mac license, hence the supplement.

At launch, Setapp announced that it had six iOS apps in the service, but that number was quickly increased to eight. The original Mac service also started with only a small selection before growing steadily.
