Kent State senior Andrew McNally earned his third consecutive offer at the NCAA Championships and claimed his first Mid-American Conference crown by beating Missouri’s Peyton Mocco in the 174-pound championship game Saturday in Lawrenceville, NJ.
McNally, runner-up at the MAC Championships for the past two years, secured a lead time point to defeat Mocco 8-7. The number 1 seed at 174 went 3-0 on Friday, with two important decisions and a pin.
McNally will be joined at the NCAA Championships by Golden Flashes teammates Jake Ferri and Kody Komara.
