AirPods competition has toughened up in recent years with more models hitting the market than can be quantified, and Jabra has been a persistent rival with unshakable quality, making it a worthy alternative to devices Apple audio. We compared the new Elite Active 75t with AirPods Pro, as well as AirPods, to see which are the best workout headphones.

Here we are talking about AirPods and AirPods Pro rather than Apple Powerbeats or Powerbeats Pro. These are specifically fitness-oriented options from Apple and Beats, but they aren’t as popular and aren’t in the same style as the Jabra Elite Active 75t.
The AirPods Pro are particularly well suited for entering and leaving the gymnasium, just like the Elite Active 75t.
Battery and connectivity
For AirPods and AirPods Pro, Apple unsurprisingly used Lightning as the charging input port, while Jabra chose USB-C. The Lightning entry doesn’t bother us, but when it comes to third-party accessories, USB-C is a must.

Jabra sells a wireless charging case for $ 20, but it’s not included by default.
AirPods and AirPods Pro support Qi wireless charging, although this is an optional add-on for standard AirPods, while AirPods Pro have a support case. Wireless charging is so convenient that we rarely pay attention to the battery life of our AirPods, as we just throw them on the charger at our office or at night and they are always close at hand.

Apple needs this benefit because one of the weakest parts of AirPods and AirPods Pro is the battery life.
Ordinary AirPods are evaluated for five hours while AirPods Pro are evaluated only four and a half hours. This can take up to five hours if transparency mode and noise cancellation are disabled. In our use, our AirPods Pro lasts a little less than the nominal battery life.
Jabra excels here, with seven and a half hours of use on a single charge. If you consider the case, Jabra totals up to 28 hours while both AirPod models cap at 24 hours.
Both offer a form of “quick charge” that gives one hour of use after a short charge, although the AirPods do win here. AirPods only take five minutes for one hour of use while the Jabra model needs 15 minutes of charging.
AirPods and AirPods Pro features
The AirPods Pro case is roughly the same size as that of the Jabra Elite Active 75t
Each set of headphones is packed with features, some unique, while others are shared.
For example, both headsets can access Siri, automatically suspend content when removed from your ear, and transparency mode (or HearThrough as Jabra calls it).

Beyond that, AirPods Pro has an automatic adaptive equalizer that adapts to your individual ears. This is the only setting available and it overlaps another useful feature, active noise cancellation. The adaptive equalizer listens to the audio in your ear to make sure the ANC does not disturb the sound of the music and that it is heard as intended.
Active noise cancellation is a highly sought after feature in AirPods Pro and those who need active noise cancellation will pay the price. It is ideal for buses, planes or other areas where there is a lot of monotonous background noise.
Live Listen is also an AirPods and AirPods Pro function designed for those who are hard of hearing and who can use the microphone of their iPhone and their AirPods to amplify the sound around them, like someone speaking.
Apple also uses its impressive H1 chip in AirPods and AirPods Pro. This uses Class 1 Bluetooth audio for the strongest signal and a crazy range of 100 feet, triple the standard range of 33 feet found on Jabra headphones.
This chip also enables one-touch configuration, audio sharing and iCloud syncing across all your devices, including Apple, iPhone, Apple TV, iPad and Mac.
Features of the Elite Active 75t
In comparison, the Jabra Elite Active 75t do not rest on their laurels. These headphones have their own unique features.
For one, instead of just Siri, the Elite Active 75t also supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. It’s great if you don’t use them on iOS to have a built-in assistant, with the Alexa option available for iOS and Android users.
Jabra also includes a fully customizable equalizer. You can choose from multiple audio presets or you can customize the equalizer to your liking.
These headphones do not have active but passive noise cancellation. It is not as strong as the ANC on AirPods Pro but better than the seal created on standard AirPods.
Put the Jabra Elite Active 75t back in its case
Unlike the AirPods, the Jabra Elite Active 75t can connect to multiple devices at the same time. With multi-connection, up to eight devices can be connected to the headphones with two actively connected at the same time.
Jabra also benefits from improved durability because it is certified with an IP57 index, which resists the penetration of solid ps as well as submersion in a meter of water for 30 minutes maximum. The AirPods Pro have only received an IPX4 resistance rating, which means that it is not tested against dust but can resist splashing water that strikes it from any angle.
This is backed by a two-year warranty while the AirPods and AirPods Pro come with the standard one-year warranty, although they are covered by the AppleCare on your iPhone.
The functionality may not matter if the audio quality is not up to par, but fortunately the two sets are well equipped, although different.
The AirPods are the weakest in the group when it comes to audio. AirPods Pro is a big step forward and has a much more impressive sound, although they don’t take it to the extreme. It is a central point of the road approach.
Jabra has more impressive bass, which is probably due to the larger volume of the headphones themselves. If you are looking for more impactful headphones for heavy workouts, the Elite Active 75t are better suited than the AirPods Pro. Due to their ability to control the equalizer, this can also be adjusted as desired.
In between, Jabra can have the upper hand when it comes to sound, both with this added bass, as well as with the overall volume.
What should I choose?
As with most comparisons, what is best for you will be entirely subjective and will depend on what is most important to you.
Jabra Elite Active 75t is the choice if you want the best battery life, an adjustable equalizer, a choice of virtual assistant, better durability and better audio.
AirPods are the choice if you want the cheapest of the lot but still want the legendary ease of use from Apple offered by this H1 audio chip.
Then AirPods Pro is there when you want this H1 chip, but high-end features such as active noise cancellation, transparency mode, adaptive equalizer, some level of water resistance and better sound than standard AirPods.
