It seems that hackers want to hack M1 Mac devices and are actively working to infect them in different ways. Previously undetected malware is now found on nearly 30,000 Macs around the world. The number isn’t huge, but the fact that the malware remained inside the device undetected tells us how serious the problem is. The malware is also said to have self-destruct capabilities, which are usually found in “high-risk operations,” as reported by Ars Technica.
The report adds that researchers have yet to observe the delivery of any payload on any of the 30,000 infected machines. Since no payload has been made, the ultimate goal of the malware remains unknown.
