6 items from the Unseen Apple Event

At Apple’s “Peek Performance” launch on Tuesday, the company unveiled the 2022 5G iPad Air with an M1 CPU, the iPhone SE upgrade with 5G (with the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13), and the Mac Studio and Mac Studio Display, a table-and-next combo. The M1 Ultra, a newer CPU faster than the M1 Max, was also announced as a viable option for Studio Mac.

While the new products announced are in line with many speculations that preceded the event (this is what the iPhone SE 2022 rumors did and did not claim), not all rumors ended up making a comeback. Here are all the Apple products that were not launched during Tuesday’s event – and we also expect to see in 2022.

The Mac Pro, a desktop console focused on professionals, is due to an upgrade. It’s the only Mac left that hasn’t jumped from Intel processor to one of its own Apple chips (Apple released the 27-inch iMac on Tuesday instead). And we are right in the deadline that Apple has ordered for two years to stop using third-party systems, so it is more likely that we will see a new Mac Pro, perhaps with a brand new M1 Ultra. This desktop is likely to appear at Apple’s next event. Check out our full list of Mac Pro rumors.

The 2020 Mac Mini with Apple’s M1 processor can see a powerful update via the M1 Pro, M1 Max or even the newly announced M1 Ultra. Reliable technology analyst Mark Gurman predicted in February that the new Mac Mini will be one of the first Macs introduced by Apple this year. While technology Mac’s technology proved to be flawed at Apple’s Tuesday event, Gurman said more Macs will follow in May or May. 2022 Mac Mini could be one of them.

The rumor mill claims that the iPad Pro and iPad entry level will receive upgrades at Apple’s March event, but Apple instead unveiled the 2022 iPad Air. Considering Apple’s official product release times, the next possible arrival times for the iPad and iPad Pro are either in May or sometime in the fall. Note that the 2022 iPad Pro can include MagSafe and a battery upgrade. Here are the most up-to-date rumors about the next iPad Pro.

No MacBooks appeared at the Apple event, but newer versions of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are also on the radar for this year. Rumors suggest that both the new Air and the new Pro may come with a new M2 chip. Or maybe it will be the release of M1 Ultra on Tuesday. We also expect the iPhone 14 in the fall. The very least for this year is the compact iPhone, which Apple has reported is back by 2025. Some new features may be on the horizon: AirPods Pro 2, Apple Watch 8 with new health features or even Apple VR / long awaited AR headset. A couple of home sports machines are reported in the works well. In front of the software, find out for iOS 16 and MacOS 13, both of which you can get a preview at the upcoming Apple event. Talking about which…

Now that Apple’s spring event is over, we probably won’t see another one until May. That was Apple’s Annual Global Developers Forum. WWDC is the gold of Apple’s publications, and we will keep our eyes open for any confirmation of the dates for WWDC 2022. Initially, this is everything we wrote in WWDC 2021.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
