5G compatible MacBook in the works, but don’t expect to see it anytime soon

Since our smartphones and tablets are able to connect to the internet using cellular connectivity, we have to wonder why such a feature is not so widely available in laptops. There are laptops with cellular capability, but strangely they are not as common as you might think, although the benefits of such devices are quite obvious.

That said, the good news for Apple fans is that it looks like such a device could come in the future. This is based on a Bloomberg report that Apple is apparently developing a MacBook with support for 5G. However, the report notes that such a laptop will not be arriving anytime soon.

It’s unclear why this could be the case, but if that’s true, it’s still good news to know that a future MacBook could support 5G connectivity. Given how fast 5G is fast, it may actually make it more attractive. However, it is possible that perhaps given that 5G is not yet as widespread, plus there are also two different forms of 5G, perhaps Apple is hoping the technology will “fix” before introducing a 5G compatible laptop.

The report had also previously stated that Apple had developed Face ID for the iMac, but they apparently abandoned their plans to include it in the allegedly upcoming redesign and will instead save it for a future model.
