Oh oh! You've finished all your Christmas shopping for your kids, but you forgot the other the children in your family until today. Or maybe you are looking for some extremely last-minute gifts just to add a few things for your children under your tree. I totally went there too – maybe even today. These recommendations can help you all year round.
Additional batteries and chargers 🔌
Be the hero your family deserves. Go to your nearest dealer and purchase batteries. Lots of batteries: AA, AAA, these strange 9V batteries, maybe even reliable rechargeable batteries. We have all had the experience "batteries not included", but it is avoidable. If it is too late now, refuel for the coming year.
That covers the basics. Then: spare chargers. Tracking a charger is difficult enough when you're an adult. Imagine how difficult it is to maintain a working charger when you are a child! And let's face it: kids are rough on the charging cables – much like many adults.
Our family can never have enough spare USB charging bricks, Lightning cables, micro USB cables and now USB-C charging bricks and cables.
It doesn't hurt to have a dedicated charger for everyone in the family either. This 5-port RAVPower 60W USB charger that we keep in the family room is powerful enough to charge the iPods and iPads of my two children.
Protect these screens 💔
Sometimes I'm brave enough to use my iPhone and iPad without a case, but I cover all sides of my kids' devices as soon as they get out of the box.
My daughter has the entry-level iPad 2019. We keep tempered glass screen protectors: one on the iPad and a spare for those times when it doesn't didn't have to suffer the blows.
We also use Apple's Smart Keyboard Cover on its 10.2 inch iPad. It's the same one that works with the latest 10.5-inch iPad. It is a useful medium for videos or video calls, and it turns your iPad into a full computer when it needs it.
