iOS 12.1 beta points for support of 4K external display on new iPad Pros

The latest discovery in the beta version of iOS 12.1 is that the software seems to support 4K external displays – something that is impossible on any current iOS device, even when using the Apple-HDMI adapter.

This can support the idea that upcoming iPad Pros will offer USB-C, developer Steve Troughton-Smith suggested on Twitter. A virtualized 4K option appears when running Apple & # 39; s iOS Simulator, which is used to test iPhone and iPad apps.

Apple is generally expected to introduce new iPad Pros this fall, possibly in October. In particular, the company needs to deliver updated 10.5 and 12.9-inch models with faster processors, edge-to-edge LCDs and Face ID. This is supported by other code sequences in iOS 12.1, including one for Face ID in landscape mode and another with the name & # 39; iPad2018Fall & # 39 ;.

It is less certain whether the tablets support USB-C, whether they are being replaced or in addition to Lightning. The first is perhaps unlikely because it is not consistent with the latest Apple iPhones and at the same time requires a new collection of accessories.

At the same time, it would help to distinguish the tablets as true "pro" hardware, not only thanks to 4K, but also to the faster 10-gigabit transfer speed of USB-C and power support up to 100 watts.
