Weak home pod sales dropped out of the top 5 smart speaker list in the second quarter of this year. However, there is a very important indicator that this product is hitting all competitors.

And that is Apple is an excellent field: to make money.

According to market research firm Strategy Analytics, HomePod sales account for only 6% of world smart speaker shipments from April to June. It is located behind Google, Amazon, Alibaba rival.

David Watkins, director of smart speaker service at Strategy Analytics, says: "Google Home Mini and Amazon Echo Dot account for 38% of worldwide shipments.

If Apple's market share has not expanded, at least it has not declined. HomePod sales in the first quarter were the same 6% in the first quarter of this year.

HomePod sales win the money game

Despite having such a small market share, HomePod has spent more money than its competitors. It accounted for 16% of smart speaker revenues worldwide.

It is sold for $ 349 and home mini is $ 49. This means that Google must sell more than seven products equal to income from each HomePod. This has not happened.

"Apple focuses on smart speaker efforts at the market premium end and is promoting HomePod's audio capabilities ahead of the device's voice control function.Watkins said Apple is growing at a small but growing rate It accounts for 70% of the premium price range of 200% or more.
