Google Engineers brainstorm about political tweaks

An e – mail that has been obtained by the Wall Street Journal shows Google engineers about political tweaks in connection with the travel ban for 2017 by President Trump. They specifically discussed the use of Google Search to highlight pro-immigration organizations.

"As far as I know, we are violating precedents when we give Highlights access only to organizations that support a certain view of the world in a time of political conflict," said an e-mail, according to WSJ.

Google said they were just brainstorming. This probably seems to me. Google can prefer its own products in the search results, but go so far as to interfere with political issues? I'm not so sure. But I was wondering how easily a roque engineer could secretly change the search algorithms.
