Wozniak pulls the plug Facebook, says users are "the product"

A co-founder of Steve Wozniak, ends the ctroversy over privacy and persal data policies of the social media giant

. Wozniak says he's leaving Facebook for a few reass. For its part, Wozniak joins a growing number of people ccerned about technology companies and their "negligence" in the processing of user data. But the former Apple engineer also raised another point: the business model of Facebook.

Like other technology companies that offer free services rather than physical products, Facebook metizes the data of its users as the main source of revenue. Often this involves taking advantage of this data for targeted advertising.

"Users are providing all the details of their lives to Facebook … and Facebook is getting a lot of advertising mey," writes Wozniak in an email. "The profits are all based user information, but users do not recover any profits."
