This week, the US House Energy and Commerce Committee sent letters to Apple and Google's parent company Alphabet with a set of 16 multi-part issues. The letter addressed to Apple CEO Tim Cook, specifically, quotes recent reports in the media about data collected by the media that "may be used in ways that csumers do not expect."
Of course, the media reports the Committee specifically cites focus Android – which is made by Google. Apple's locati in the world of digital privacy, lawmakers probably want to know where they are.
