Twitter grows “Hide Replies” feature, which allows developers to create automated tools

Twitter to Hide the Answers feature started rolling out in September last year, giving users the opti to have more moderati ctrols. Now, Twitter is the opening of the Hide Answers functiality for developers.

As TechCrunch reports, this means that developers will be able to create tools that “automatically hide disruptive tweets the basis of factors that are important to their customers.” For example, now that the Mask respse according to the API endpoint, developers can create a tool for brands that automatically hides some of the respses.

Twitter had been working with the developers this feature before today’s announcement. e of the tools, called Redesignuses the Hide Respses from the API to “develop scripts that detect and cceal the answers based keywords or even by the user.” This means a brand could automatically hide the answers that include profanity, for example.

Another example is a new applicati called The Masking Of Respses. This applicati uses the API to allow users to “automatically hide the answers you d’t want to see in your Twitter sat.”

As we detailed last September, the Hide the Answers feature gives users the ability to hide the respses to their tweets that may be offensive or n-relevant. Now that the feature has been opened for developers, the process to hide the tweets can be automated. The feature has been somewhat ctroversial, but Twitter, it is obvious when answers have been hidden by the appearance of a “View Hidden Tweets” butt.

The applicati now automatically hides the answers by keyword or Twitter username. So it will add support to hide the respses that are likely to troll or bot accounts — including the tweets of user accounts created since too little time, or accounts with few followers.
