New estimates from a security researcher suggest that GrayKey, a digital forensics tool widely used by law enforcement, is able to decipher the access code to six iPhone figures in 11 hours. Lger codes, however, could take years to process. Here's how to boost the security of your phe. Matthew Green, an assistant professor and cryptographer at the Johns Hopkins Security Informati Institute, said that the iPhone's unlocking device could decipher a simple four-digit code in six and a half minutes. 13 minutes maximum.

According to his calculatis, Green estimates that a six-digit access code takes up to 22.2 hours to break, while processing an eight-digit code can take as little as 46 hours or up to 92 days. This figure rises to 25 years, or 12 years average, to decipher a strg 10-digit code csisting of random numbers.
