In 20 years of Apple's coverage, I think it's a first: the FCC seems to have released photos of an original iPhone X gold. First spotted by 9to5Mac these photos are part of an FCC folder for a "Apple Inc. Smartphe -E3161A", and clearly show a gold-colored device where no device of this type does not currently exist.
All in all, there were 6 photos included with the deposit, which are still available to date. They show the iPhone X iPhone from different angles with a rule for measurements. The photos are all stamped "Apple Proprietary and Cfidential", erreous because they are public
