The iPad Pro and the iPhone X win the "Year's Awards"

The iPad Pro and the iPhone X are now named Displays of the Year by the Society for Informati Display (SID) at the annual Display Industry Awards to be held at Display Week, a annual symposium and a trade show.

The presentati prizes aim to highlight "a high quality innovative work that takes place in the display industry". All 2018 award winners cover products that were available for purchase during the 2017 calendar year.


Apple's 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, launched in June 2017, w a prize for the ProMoti display technology introduced in both devices. ProMoti introduces a refresh rate of 120 Hz display, which is designed to make all screen movements smoother, sharper and more respsive. It improves text, scrolling, games, Apple Pencil latency, movies, and more.


The 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models have a resoluti of 2224 x 1168 and 2732 x 2048, respectively, with a pixel density of 264 pixels per inch. Both devices also incorporate True Te, which adjusts the white balance of the screen to fit the ambient lighting of a room, and the wide color gamut P3 for colors more vivid and more faithful to reality.

Apple's iPhone X also received the Displays of the Year award for its Super Retina Edge-to-Edge screen that is fully screen (apart from the notch) without physical butts. It offers the first OLED screen in an iPhone, with support for HDR and True Te.
