Ty Fadell, who played a role in the creati of the iPod, thinks that Apple should tackle the problem of smartphe addicti.

In an editorial with Wired UK, the former vice president of the iPod divisi said that Apple could solve the problem at the software level by "allowing users to better understand how they use their devices."

"To do this, it should allow people to track their digital activity in detail and all devices," said Fadell. "You should be able to see exactly how you spend your time and, if you wish, moderate your behavior accordingly."

Fadell said that his soluti would essentially be like a digital scale to mitor time spent in applicatis, web browsing and other tasks:
