W While Apple's flagship tablet has not received so much attenti during this week's frenzy, data shows that people are buying iPads again [19659002] Apple sold 9.1 milli iPads during its secd quarter The data compiled by the IDC research firm show that, over the same period, the tech giant Cupertino has managed to carve out the the world's largest tablet market in four years.
IDC estimates that iPad shipments account for approximately 28.8 total tablets sold during the three-mth period. This is a leap of 24.9% in the same period last year. This is also the highest share recorded since Apple acquired 32.7% of the market in 2014.
It should be noted that Apple operates its own fiscal year. The first quarter of 2018 Apple has actually started last year. In other words, the secd quarter of the business is essentially the first quarter of 2018. Samsung came in secd with a market share of about 16.7% – coming from about 5.3 milli tablet shipments during the period. Regarding the future of the tablet lineup, Cupertino tech titan is expected to widely launch new iPad Pro devices. It can be assumed that these iPad Pro devices will retain the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch form factors of their predecessors. Although it is not clear what will receive a "modern iPad" update, or both will do.
