Telegram CEO Pavel Durov says that Apple has stopped approving updates for its mobile applicati a worldwide basis.
He says it coincides with Russia setting up a blockage Telegram. no updates have been released to users worldwide for a mth and a half. Apple has not said anything about the apparent update block, and the lack of transparency has forced Durov to go public.
The CEO of Telegram says that the inability to deploy updates to his applicati means that the company has not been able to comply with the new privacy laws in Europe. He also asked why a geographic software ban that was affecting just a small percentage of the Telegram user base should have implicatis for users around the world.
Durov took Twitter to alert people about a post he made Telegram:
