Steam Link allows you to play Mac and PC games iOS and tvOS with a few snags

Steam Link, the iOS and tvOS app that lets you play your Mac titles your other devices, launched in beta Thursday. We spent the last few days trying it out different games, and we can tell you what to expect.

What You Can Do

Using the new Steam Link app, you can play almost any game Steam can play your Mac or PC your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. There is a variety of asterisks, like the fact that both devices must be the same network and cnected via Ethernet or 5GHz Wi-Fi, but it's a minor limitati these days.

Can be paired directly with your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV to ctrol these games, but not with your Mac. If you do not like the Steam Ctroller that splits, any MFi ctroller will work too, including the exceptial Nimbus Steel Series.

In reality, your computer is doing all the heavy lifting, and streaming a live video of the game the screen. Steam has had a versi for a while, but it was limited to going from e computer to the other.

We have tried a variety of different games streaming from our Mac to an iPad and Apple TV. Although there were some snags alg the way, we were pleased with the experience as a whole
