The new Snapchat glasses, which include a Mardi Gras mask, a Day of the Dead face painting with a matching flower headdress and an eye mask with a pink masquerade, will begin appearing the iPhone X users today, reports The Verge .
As can be seen from the photos above, TrueDepth-compatible AR masks are more closely mapped to a user's facial topography than the usual Lenses.
Unlike traditial lenses that rely a camera's 2D camera information to recognize dominant facial features, such as a user's eyebrows and mouth, iPhone X lenses leverage the data produced by TrueDepth. The use of depth information allows Snapchat to more accurately pin virtual objects to the face of a subject.
