2018 Release Date from iMac

It is certainly possible that the iMac be updated early in the summer of 2018. There has been an update to the Kaby Lake processor range from the 7th generati currently in the iMac, to the 8th generati of Kaby Lake R. But more likely, Apple will be using Intel's new Coffee Lake chips – which are already available, although reports indicate that there will likely be shortages in the first quarter.
However, with an average iMac refresh of over a year, it is also possible that Apple may wait until September or October 2018 to issue an updated iMac. If the company is csidering a more substantial overhaul (as we will see below), this could well be the case
