Recent trademark filings refer to the possible names of macOS 10.14 – Mojave, Sequoia, Ventura or Soma

A series of applicatis filed by Apple in Cambodia and the Philippines could point to the name we can expect to use for macOS 10.14, the new versi of macOS that Apple will unveil at the June Worldwide Developers Cference .

In both countries, using an alleged screen company, Apple filed several new brands a series of California brand names that surfaced in 2014. In the Philippines, Apple filed trademark applicatis for Mojave, Sequoia, Soma and Ventura, while in Cambodia, Apple has filed a mark for Mojave ale.

It is not clear why Apple is filing new marks for these names in these specific countries, but these new deposits suggest that e of these four names could be used for macOS 10.14. Since Mojave is the name that has been filed in both places, it could be Apple's favorite.

Other big names in California that were filed algside these in 2014 have not seen any new trademark filed by Apple, with limited brand activity being limited to Mojave, Sequoia, Soma and Ventura.

With trademark filings, Apple must ctinually file extensis to keep a name because marks must be used. Apple has kept many of the names of its original filing in 2014, including Rinc, Grizzly, Farall and Mterey. All these names could also be used for future versis of macOS. Mojave, Sequoia, Soma, …
