Popular iOS and Mac apps scratch the inboxes for the benefit of persal data, the report finds [U]

A new report Motherboard today we dive in a little bit of iOS and Mac applicatis/services that are not very transparent about the sale of persal data of users. In particular, e of them is even in the Apple App Store ranked in the top 100 for productivity apps.

The first e-mail applicati Motherboard noted in his report that the use of scratch cards to sell persal data is Edis. While the developer says its website that it does not “process” of its users ‘ e-mails, Edis customers who Motherboard interviewed stated that they do not realize what was happening.

And when you look at the big picture, Edis have phrases such as “privacy by design” and “privacy first” its website can feel misleading after learning about how they scrape and sell persal data.

Motherboard learned the details in a J. P. Morgan document the way to Edis land from the sale of persal email data for businesses:

“They could certainly be a little more clear about their intentis,” Seb Insua, an Edis user who said that they were not aware of the data of sale, said to the motherboard. “Their web site is just like “No advertising” and “privacy” First,” he added (the website of the company says “Edis-Trends in practices of privacy by design.”)

Motherboard also discovered that two other popular e-mail applicatis/services using the same practice of scraping and selling user’s email, data, Cleanfox and Slice.
