Law enforcement officers in the Bay Area of California have announced several arrests that cover the entire state, accusing all alleged perpetrators of being involved in the recent rash of brutal Apple Store thefts.
According to the San Francisco Chricle, who mentied law enforcement sources, seven arrests were made in Oakland Wednesday in cnecti with the recent surge of Apple Store thefts in the state of California.
"These arrests are related to large-scale crimes committed in the entire state of California," said a statement from the Oakland police who added that it had "assisted another law enforcement agency" in the arrests.
The California Department of Justice will announce more informati about the charges later Thursday, according to various media reports.
The thefts took place throughout California in the course of 2018, with some stores being hit by thieves several times. The store in Palo Alto was robbed twice as many days last weekend, just a few hours after CEO Tim Cook visited the store for the release day of the new iPhes.
There have been recent arrests in the thefts, including e that was caught video last week in Santa Rosa, but most of the thieves have left successfully.
