Ming-Chi Kuo states that Apple plans to sell its HomePod at a lower price after potentially derisory sales

HomePod's deliveries "may be well below market expectatis" this year, according to KGI Securities' reputed analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo.

"Our understanding is that the market expects HomePod shipments to reach 5-10 milli units during the 2018 fiscal year, against our forecast of ly 2.0- 2.5 milli units, "Kuo writes, in a research note obtained by MacRumors.

Kuo believes that the "major shortage" in HomePod deliveries could be attributable to speaker design and pricing, amg other factors.

To begin with, at $ 349, he stated that the high price of HomePod "could undermine demand despite excellent sound quality." He added that Siri provides an "uninteresting user experience" compared to competitors, possibly including the Amaz Echo with Alexa and Google Home with Google Assistant.

Kuo said that potentially weak sales of HomePod highlighted "underlying ccerns" in the development of artificial intelligence of Apple.
