Mac's shipments remain stable in the first quarter of 2018 in the midst of ctinued global PC declines

Amid a ctinuing decline in global PC shipments, Apple's Mac sales have remained stable in the first quarter of 2018, according to new PC shipping estimates shared this past by Gartner.

Apple shipped about 4.26 milli Macs during the first quarter of 2018, compared to 4.2 milli Macs in the correspding quarter of last year, a growth of 1.5%.

Apple's market share for the quarter is 6.9%, compared with 6.7% in the first quarter of 2017. Apple was ranked the world's fourth largest PC provider in the quarter, after HP, Lenovo and Dell, and in frt of Asus and Acer. Apple was ranked fifth supplier in the same quarter last year, but this year it has surpassed Asus.
