Dr. Mac & Rants & Raves
Episode # 273
As my "Daily Driver", a MacBook Pro, was out of service for several days last week (as I explained last week) I had to use my MacBook Air in its place, learning four lesss alg the way.
I bought the 11-inch MacBook Air for the trip, so ly 8GB of RAM, an internal 120GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 5000 and an Intel Core 1.4GHz i5 processor. My MacBook Pro is much more powerful with a 15-inch screen, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB internal SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics cards and Intel Iris Pro and an Intel Core i7 processor 2.6 GHz. [19659004] The use of the MacBook Air, much less powerful, as my main Mac was an experience of humility.
The first thing I did was cnect my Thunderbolt dock to the MacBook Air. Thanks to this single cnecti, I have immediate access to my 27-inch external display, fast Ethernet network, favorite printers, keyboard, mouse and all my backup drives.
