Apple's chief design officer Jy Ive today received the Professor Hawking Fellowship from the Cambridge Uni Society. Ive is the secd ever recipient of the prize, which was created last year to recognize ctributis to STEM fields and social discourse.
As noted by Varsity, Ive was announced as the recipient of the Professor Hawking Fellowship during a ceremy today at Cambridge Uni.
Ive, who is respsible for the design of the iMac, iPod, MacBook Air, iPhe and iPad, is an horary at Jesus College. He owns more than 5,000 patents and was knighted in 2006 for his & # 39; services to the design industry.
To choose this year's Hawking Fellowship recipient, the Hawking Committee & # 39; of the Cambridge Uni 14 prominent figures in STEM fields enumerated, and then three Cambridge academics each had a rank.
The Hawking Fellowship was founded in 2017 by the Cambridge Uni Society, in collaborati with Professor Stephen Hawking.
