Dr. Chiara Mingarelli is an astrophysicist who currently works at the Center for Computatial Astrophysics at the Flatir Institute where she is a Flatir Scholar. Chiara received her PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2014, and her specialty is the study of gravitatial waves: ripples in the space-time born of a cataclysmic collisi remote objects and super massive. She was Marie Curie Internatial Fellow at Cal Tech and worked at the Max Planck Institute for Radioastromy. We discussed her early years, how she was inspired by the night sky of her hometown in Canada and her early years studying mathematics and physics. There were certainly some challenges in his early career, but his mathematician father nurtured him through. If you're curious about gravitatial waves and pulsars, here's the show for you.
