Instagram CEO explains why the company has not developed an iPad app yet

It is 2020 and Instagram is not always an app for the iPad — despite its barrage of other feature additis and extensis. Now, in respse to a user questi this weekend, Instagram’s chief executive Adam Mosseri has explained why the company has yet to deploy an app for the iPad.

According to Mosseri, the reas for Instagram for iPhone-apps is that the company does not have the resources to develop for both platforms. He explained that Instagram has “much to do”, and all this is apparently more lucrative than an iPad app would be.

“We would like to build an iPad app, but we do have a lot of people and a lot of things to do, and it has not bubbled up as the next best thing to do yet,” Mosseri said.

Instagram has generally remained silent about his stubbornness to bring an applicati for the iPad. When asked why he prioritized bringing messages directly to the internet via an iPad app last mth, the company has simply said that the direct messages are important because they help the users to “stay in touch with the people you love.”

There were several third-party Instagram apps for the iPad a few years ago, but Instagram changed its API, and killed the market without offering an iPad app of its own. There is also the argument that the Instagram web applicati is a pretty good experience the iPad, and you can add it to your Home screen. But in the end, it’s just not the same as a dedicated app would be.
