The report is keen to stress that this does not mean that Apple has yet put a OLED command with BOE, but the iPhone maker is said to have asked the provider to “make the necessary preparatis” for the producti of its first Chinese OLED iPhone, displays.

Samsung has first been Apple’s ly supplier for the OLED screens used in the iPhone X and XS, because it is the ly company able to hit both quality and volume. LG was later brought board as a supplier accessory for iPhone 11 Pro, but Apple is still heavily dependent Samsung.

It will be interesting to see if the BOE can be a third OLED supplier to Apple in 2021, according to Samsung Display and LG Display.

According to the industry, the BOE has recently decided to invest in the OLED module lines exclusive to Apple. It is understood that the BOE is planning to build 10 new module lines to its B11 OLED factory located in the province of Sichuan.

The BOE has always been to make attempts to supply its Oled Apple. Parallel to the cstructi of B11 plant, he has participated in projects for the development of Oled displays for iPhones. However, it has yet to provide its Oled as the OLED did not meet Apple’s strict quality assessment.
