Arlo adds HomeKit support to Arlo Pro 3 smart home system camera

After the release of the Arlo Pro 3 to the end of 2019, Arlo brings HomeKit support of the famous smart home security camera through a free firmware update.

Available Wednesday, Arlo Pro 3 can be updated to support Apple’s smart home platform. HomeKit will allow you to see the cameras inside the Home of the app as well as the use of the moti sensor to trigger scenes and other accessories each time a movement is detected.

For the moment, it is just the support for HomeKit, and not HomeKit Secure Video. HomeKit Course, the Video enables the recording of video sequences in iCloud. Currently, users will always have to rely Arlo and Arlo cloud service for remote video storage.

The update is rolling to Arlo Pro 3 systems SmartHub versi VMB4540. The compatibility with other base stati, the models to come in the future.

Here’s how to find out which SmartHub you have, and install the update

  • Open the Arlo app and then select Settings
  • Press My Devices
  • Press SmartHub >
  • Press Device Info and check the Hardware ID
  • If the update is available, press Firmware to verify the update.
