Apple's hiring trends further signal its growing interest in editorial ctent

Over the past year, Apple has been focusing news and editorial ctent. Last week, the company shared its first exclusive ctent via Apple News, and it was also revealed that Apple was paying some publishers for anticipated exclusive rights over video ctent.

While the company started recruiting publishers for Apple News in 2015, things have increased dramatically recently. Jobs related to Apple News reached a peak last November, but many editorial positis remain open.

For example, Apple currently has job offers for "Politics Editor", "Business Editor", "US Editor", and so . . Posts are not entry-level either. As Thinknum explains, the post of political editor is looking for somee with seven years of experience:

But the editorial effort began last fall. Apple's list for a "policy publisher," for example, has remained Apple's work site since November 2017, when the hiring sessi began. And Apple is not looking for any publisher – it is looking for somee with at least seven years of experience and a "good understanding of high quality journalism."
