Cstructi of the world's first flagship Apple store to service the Latin American market is underway in a shopping mall in Mexico City, with the goal of a grand opening early 2019.
Previously, the company was planning to take over a multi-storey store left vacant by Crate & Barrel last year, but this structure, which was attached to the Antara shopping center proper, has since been demolished. Apple will instead use the space to erect a separate walk-in building the mall's property.
e expects the upcoming store to boast the usual attributes of a flagship store, including a meeting room for business customers.
As shown in the photo above, the ctractors extended the barriers between the main building and the adjacent sidewalk for cstructi, an additial space that could make way for a huge open-air space.
Apple's newest retail flagships feature a "square town" design, with public meeting spaces for guests and passers-by. Dreamed by Executive Vice President of Retail Angela Ahrendts, the ccept aims to foster a sense of community around each store.
For example, the Michigan Avenue flagship in Chicago that opened in October incorporates tree-covered seating alg a grand staircase flanking the glazed building. Indoor benches a multi-storey secd floor overlook the sales and offer views of the Chicago River.
