Apple losing AR lead to low-cost competitors, the lack of software innovati to blame

According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple lost its lead in the augmented reality world after accelerating its pace with ARKit in iOS 11 and advanced hardware iPhone and iPad. Kuo in a note to investors seen by AppleInsider said that Apple's leadership in AR was "significantly reduced" by Oppo, which partly caught up with the iPhone maker through a solid hardware and software integrati. The analyst believes that it ly took six to nine mths for the Chinese electrics manufacturer to come up with a platform comparable to Apple's offerings.
