Apple issues first public beta & # 39; s from iOS 12.1, tvOS 12.1

Apple has offered public beta versis of iOS 12.1 and tvOS 12.1 for testing ly two days after it released the first developer built in the new test cycle, with the iOS Beta Group FaceTime returning to public testing.

The first public beta releases are available for download by users who participated in the testing program via the Apple Beta Software Program website. From a functial point of view, public beta ctent should be comparable to the most recent beta for developers, which were published Mdays.

The most important additi to the iOS 12.1 developer beta, which reflects the public versi, is the return of Group FaceTime, a feature that allows up to 32 people to join a videocference together with support for MeMojis. Although the feature was part of beta & # 39; s as part of iOS 12, it was removed for the final public release, with Apple planning to send it in a later update.

AppleInsider, as well as Apple itself, advise against installing beta releases missi-critical hardware because of the potential for data loss. Those interested in beta testing should use secdary devices and back up important data before installing or running updates.
