AMD released this week Mac versis of its Rade ProRender plugins for 3D creati of Blender and Maya -Enabling Macs with compatible hardware to take advantage of ProRender for physics-based rendering
Macs must work at least macOS 10.13.3, and using hardware that supports Apple's graphics platform Metal 2. When these are in effect, ProRender offers an evolutiary ray-tracing engine exploiting the maximum power of the CPU and the GPU.
The new plugins also include AMD's updated Uber Shader, with touches like better sub-surface diffusi. In Maya, "interactive" denoising attempts to suppress noise while retaining detail, simultaneously reducing rendering times.
Several Blender upgrades were made, including adaptive subdivisi of surfaces, more AOV optis, and volumetric effects. like fog, smoke and clouds.
