A irPlay 2 is there for Sos owners. The company announced Wednesday that it had begun deploying the protocol its wireless speakers.
With this support, owners of Sos can now stream audio from iPhones and iPads, as well as from iTunes Mac. It also enables multi-room audio playback when paired with other Sos, HomePod or Apple TV speakers, as well as audio playback ctrol from a Siri compatible device.
AirPlay also has other advantages over Sos. The company notes that a user can start playing Apple Music with Siri ctrols, and then ctrol reading with Alexa. In other words, there is some flexibility of the ecosystem (since some Sos speakers come with the digital assistant of Amaz).

But Sos notes that an owner can also use a Sos-compatible AirPlay 2 speaker to ctrol other Sos speakers not supported with the protocol streaming of Apple. This will be particularly useful for those who have complete cfiguratis of Sos speakers.
More generally, Wednesday's update also marks the first time that Sos took over any versi of from AirPlay. The company has, to date, delayed the additi of support due to latency and other issues present in the first versi of the streaming protocol.
