Case makers bet on iPhone IS 2 ” naming for Apple low-cost iPhone, what do you think?

Apple’s long-rumored low-cost iPhone is expected to enter production this month and will be released in March. While we know very little about the device, a large question remains: what is Apple going to name it? iPhone 9? the iPhone 2? Something else?

This entry-level iPhone is expected to feature a 4.7-inch screen with a design almost identical to that of the iPhone 8. Its main selling points will be the A13 processor inside is the same as the iPhone 11, and $399 starting price.

Ming-Chi Kuo has regularly called this 4.7-inch device like the iPhone 2, but Kuo is notoriously unreliable when it comes to things like the marketing of the names — as most of the supply chain analysts. Separately, another report published in December, said Apple had decided to “iPhone 9” the name of the device.

Before the iPhone is officially announced by Apple, many things leak: the design details, schematics, features, and more. But Apple is usually able to keep the brand image and the pricing details under wraps. In some years, the naming is logical: iPhone XS > iPhone 11, for example. For this device, however, it is more tricky because there is no precedent.

Totallee, for example, has recently opened pre-orders for its ultra-thin “iPhone 2” case and sent an email blast to customers with the details. What is important to keep in mind, however, is that the case managers have no official preview of iPhone naming. Their information is usually obtained from persons close to the supply chain, as many analysts.
