Apple’s iPhone Estimated To Be Third In Units, Number One In China

The iPhone is doing quite well in China and dominated the local smartphone market in terms of sales – but not in units – during the first half of 2018, according to a research firm.

iPhone revenues have reached $ 25.238 billion in the Sigmaintell region said this week, quoted by Taiwan DigiTimes. This despite a third place in the deliveries of units to 32.11 million, less than 38 million Oppo and 35.5 million Vivo. In fact, Huawei would bring them all technically forward with 58.96 million men, except that some characters are split into the Honor brand.

The gap between Apple's revenues and deliveries is probably related to high prices. An iPhone X starts at $ 1,216 in China, making it much more expensive than most smartphones, many of which probably cost half or a third of the price.

DigiTimes noted that at least one local report said the iPhone X represented half of the iPhones sold in China in the quarter of June, but this figure is disputed by other sources and claims that the iPhone 6 Series devices make up the largest part of shipments. A new iPhone easily costs a month to some Chinese employees, contributing to the attractiveness of older equipment.

Total harvested apple of $ 53.3 billion in revenue from April to June, $ 29.9 billion of this amount came from shipments of 41.3 million iPhones. CEO Tim Cook said that the iPhone X maintains its position as the most popular model in general, even though the iPhone 8 line can do better in the American homeland of society.
