Apple's Amsterdam store evacuated and temporarily closed after the iPad's battery exploded and released potentially harmful substances into the atmosphere.
Well! Screen cleaner
Reported iCulture, Apple employees protected the iPad and exploded, then pierced the battery in a sand container. Fortunately, there were no fire, smoke, or serious injury. However, three employees who experienced dyspnea were treated by the first responder.
Due to the potentially released chemicals, the store is closed to allow firefighters to ventilate the space and remove harmful vapors.
It has nothing to do with the explosion of this iPad battery, but since Apple has launched the iPhone battery exchange program, there have been several such incidents in the last few months. The Swiss and Spanish Apple stores evacuated this year, after a hot event on the iPhone battery. Fortunately, as with today's incident, there were no serious injuries, but Apple employees suffered minor burns.
As usual, please do not swell the swollen battery. Please contact the Apple Store or your local Apple Authorized Service Provider as soon as possible.
