While most people released their new Apple Series 4 this weekend, iFixit tore theirs. Inside they found a larger battery together with a larger Taptic Engine and more.
iFixit & # 39; s Apple Series 4 teardown
iFixit says that Apple has clearly paid much attention to redesigning both the inside and the outside. They say,
Apple has seriously thought about the Series 4, where a new housing, new buttons, a new display and new functions are presented. And where the inside of the first seemed uncomfortably placed and unpolished by Apple standards, for the Series 4 they have really painted the back of the fence. Our disassembly revealed a streamlined antenna system, a screen that is both larger and thinner, and a new ECG-conductive digital crown
Apple Series 4 has a battery that is 4% larger than the previous models, despite its thinner casing. That costs it from the Series 3 1.07 Wh to 1.113 Wh.
They also note that the larger Taptic Engine takes up space that could have been used for more battery. Apparently Apple did not think we already got enough strong taps.

With the repositioned speakers, Apple was able to remove one of the openings from the Series 3 model. Now the barometric sensor is placed next to the loudspeakers so that it does not need its own hole.
iFixit gives Apple Series 4 a fixability score of 6 out of 10. That's the same score that Apple Series 3 achieved last year.
Apple Series 4 is available in stores and through the Apple website. Prices start at US $ 399 for the 40mm model and $ 429 for the 44mm model.
