Apple will donate one million dollars to the American Red Cross to deal with the hurricane Florence hitting the east coast of the United States.
“Carolinas is in our hearts,” CEO Tim Cook said on Twitter Announcement Donation. “People of the Philippine Hurricane Philippines, the first responders and everyone, please keep it safe.”
This storm hit the coast in earnest around 7:15 am Eastern time on Friday after sinking for a long time on the coast. Since it was initially rated category 4, it has fallen to category 1, but it was expected to attack Carolina with rain and sudden forces for at least 24 hours, and over 26,000 people were forced to evacuate. Many families are in the water, and the wind can reach 85 miles per hour or more.
The American Red Cross is Apple’s most common charity besides (red). For example, in August we started donating iTunes to organizations for forest fire in California. Indeed, the company does the same thing in past hurricanes such as Harvey last year.
Criticism may emerge against working favorably on the Red Cross and for donating a relatively small amount to charitable organizations as compared to income. The company produces billions of dollars each quarter, but in 2017 the annual turnover of products (defaulters), including special editions of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, will be reduced by the Global Fund Tuberculosis, and Malaria, who donated more than $ 30 million to TB.
